Perfumer - Olivia Giacobetti

Olivia Giacobetti (1966) is one of the most influential and innovative perfumers of her generation. The French perfumer grew up in an artistic environment as the daughter of photographer and artist Francis Giacobetti. From a young age, she became fascinated by the world of scent and began her career at the age of sixteen with Annick Goutal. After a period as an assistant perfumer at Robertet, she founded her own creative studio, Iskia, in 1990, from which she developed fragrances for houses such as L’Artisan Parfumeur, Diptyque, Hermès, and Guerlain.

Giacobetti gained international recognition for her light, transparent style and her ability to translate poetry and memories into scent. She is considered the perfumer who gave the fig note a prominent place in modern perfumery in the 1990s. Her iconic creations, Premier Figuier for L’Artisan Parfumeur and Philosykos for Diptyque, became modern classics and inspired countless other perfumers. Fragrances such as En Passant by Frédéric Malle and Dzing! by L’Artisan Parfumeur are also praised for their original and almost impressionistic character.
