Annick Goutal (1946–1999) was a French perfumer who became one of the most important pioneers of modern niche perfumery. Before discovering her passion for scent, she built a successful career as a concert pianist and worked as a model. During an assignment in Grasse, she was introduced to the world of perfumery and met perfumer Henri Sorsana, who recognised her talent and trained her for seven years in the art of creating perfume. This period formed the basis of her emotional and personal style.

In 1980, Annick founded her own perfume house Annick Goutal. Her first creations, including Folavril, Passion, and especially Eau d’Hadrien, immediately established her name. Eau d’Hadrien grew into a timeless classic and is still considered one of the most beautiful citrus perfumes ever made. Throughout her career, Annick created about twenty-five fragrances, each inspired by personal memories, travels, and emotions. Her perfumes are distinguished by their natural elegance and poetic character.

After her passing in 1999, her work was continued by her daughter Camille Goutal and perfumer Isabelle Doyen.
