Trudon
Since 1643, Trudon has made history as the world's oldest surviving candle maker. What began as a small shop on Rue Saint-Honoré in Paris grew into the only candle manufacturer ever to receive the title of Royal Manufacture. Over the centuries, Trudon supplied candles to the French royal household and imperial court, while generations of skilled artisans continued to develop the art of crafting perfectly white beeswax candles. In 2007, the house combined this centuries-old expertise with contemporary perfumery in its iconic scented candles, followed by the introduction of perfumes in 2017.
To this day, all Trudon candles are handcrafted in its own workshops in Normandy. From blending the fragrance with the specially developed wax to manually centering the wick, pouring, finishing, and applying the emblem, every step is carried out with the utmost care. The mouth-blown glasses are made in Tuscany, and the fragrances are created in collaboration with renowned perfumers. Trudon is also actively committed to nature conservation. Since 2018, the house has supported the protection of the European dark bee in Normandy and invested in reforestation projects in the Peruvian Amazon, giving the centuries-old motto “Deo Regique Laborant” (the bees work for God and the King) a contemporary meaning.
